So…

👉 How’s that working out for you?
(no irony has played a part in the creation of this photo of a woman, on a stalion in a field with rose bushes and lemon trees)
💠Let’s Just Say It
This is the part no one talks about.
Not the doctors.
Not the support groups.
Not even your closest friends.
👉 Intimacy changes
👉 Connection changes
👉 And sometimes… it disappears
đź’” My Reality
I gave up years ago
Before the diagnosis.
At the time, I thought it was:
Hurtful words
Distance
Disconnection
And honestly?
👉 It shut me down.
Looking back now…
👉 I know it was probably the disease talking
But knowing that doesn’t erase how it made me feel.
🧠The Awkward Middle
Here’s where it gets even harder…
👉 Sometimes they initiate intimacy
And it feels:
Off
Awkward
Disconnected
Like the emotional piece just isn’t there.
And the flip side?
👉 Sometimes you want that connection
But they:
Can’t follow the flow
Lose focus
Or just… aren’t there in the same way
⚖️ That Disconnect
For me…
👉 I need emotional and intellectual connection to feel physical connection
And when that’s gone…
👉 It changes everything
🪞 So What Does That Leave?
For now?
👉 It’s just me… with me
And if you get what I’m saying—
👉 You’re not alone in that either
There are some groups if you are ready to date or explore, no judgement, but there is a lot of advice on it.
đź’ˇ Real Talk
This isn’t about:
Lack of love
Lack of effort
Or giving up
It’s about:
👉 The disease changing how connection works
And trying to navigate something that doesn’t follow the same rules anymore
đź’› No Judgment Zone
However you handle this part:
Pulling back
Trying to adapt
Finding other ways to connect
Or taking care of your own needs
👉 There is no “right” answer
🎵 Final Thought
“I can’t get no… satisfaction…”
Yeah.
Sometimes that hits a little too close.
Great Solo recommendations for women
If you’re trying to figure this part out…
👉 There are tools for that.
I’m not getting into the details—you can Google that on your own.
But if you need a place to start, here are a few legit sites:
All discreet. All easy to navigate. No judgment.
👉 Figure out what works for you.
đź’¬ Disclaimer
I’m not a doctor or therapist—just sharing real-life experience as a caregiver. This is not medical or relationship advice. Every situation is different, and you should do what feels right for you.
"Satisfaction" by The Rolling Stones
or
by Devo- not same, but equally good
or techno one by David Guetta and Benni Benassi
